Therm-X-Mill® uses a highly exothermic reaction to remove sections of tubing and casing and create windows in the wellbore where rock to rock barriers can be placed.
Changing the well decommissioning process from mechanical removal of tubing and casing with a drilling rig to exothermic section milling with Therm-X-Mill® means that the same end result can be achieved, but by using significantly lower cost and emission well intervention equipment.
In addition to Therm-X-Mill®, the technology can be adapted to perform alternative cutting and milling operations in the wellbore such as helical cutting with SpiraCut® and tubing or casing cutting with Therm-X-Cut®.
Clearwell Technology Ltd own and operate two high-end bespoke wellbore simulators which are used to replicate wellbore pressure, temperature and inclination conditions during prototype testing.
